I am back! Huge apologies for the delay in blog posts, but since my return from Dallas it’s been pretty crazy for a mum who had a week off from, well, being mum!

So, shall I re-cap on my trip? Ok! So, those who don’t know about reward Style, they are the affiliate company who connect bloggers with brands so we can give you the best online shopping experience from our blogs and via LiketoKnowIt on instagram.

This was my first trip to the USA and away from both boys for longer than two nights and I survived surprisingly well, hardly shed a tear which was the opposite to how I thought I would cope. Must have been that southern hospitality, that is as true as the saying goes, that kept me distracted. Dallas, on first impressions, was quiet, a lot like Adelaide, brown buildings, no cowboys and safe. The Joule Hotel was my home away from home for the week and I couldn’t recommend it highly enough, and no, it’s not because Karl Lagerfeld stayed there last year when he showed his Paris-Dallas collection.

The conference itself was the best experience and worth while decision I have made in my five year career as a blogger. I learnt so much and am motivated to kick butt this year. I was amongst 200 of the worlds best bloggers, it was such an honour for me to be there and to have made some really cool new friends (which you would have seen on my Instagram) one being Sandra from 5 inch and up- my ultimate blogger to meet and first ever girl crush!

I had three cocktail parties to attend, two luncheons, meetings and on the down time, a spot of shopping at the first ever Neiman Marcus, which sat comfortably next door to The Joule Hotel. I won’t be eating chicken for a month or two as it was pretty much all I ate, marinated, smokey something or other which was pleasantly delicious and usually with some sort of melted orange cheese on the side or a pickle! I like pickles!

My top tips for visiting Dallas (even though I was only there for 5 days):

Tex Mex (guacamole is redic!)
Highland Park Village for designer shopping
Vintage Martini for vintage shopping (I might have bought a vintage Chanel piece)
JFK Memorial
The Joule Hotel
CBD bar
North Park Shopping Mall

It is great to be home, but I would do that all over again in a second! I got to meet with some really good brands and be introduced to some new ones too such as GiGi New York that do personalised leather, I think I am going to order this tote for my NYC trip in two months for carry on. Also the discovery of River Island children’s wear for my boys!
