QT hotel sydney

36 hours ago I was on my flight to Sydney. I was heading up so I could attend two events, the Park Avenue PR Boohoo.com showings and then the GHD event that was to reveal their new ground breaking product.

With my carry on case in toe and a Chanel bag that was not a good traveling companion, I arrived at Sydney airport, destination: Corner of George and Market Streets Sydney CBD.  I was not sure what to expect when I thought about my hotel for the night, the QT Sydney. I had seen some ads and campaigns at the cinemas about their hotels and I couldn’t really put the eccentric, bright and bold campaigns into an image of a hotel. I pulled up in the taxi in the heart of fashion at its finest, Myer, David Jones and Westfield and as I enter the QT Hotel entrance, to my right just so happened to be Topshop! Gold!

I don’t review hotels nor was I paid to write this, but as part of my fashion journey that you take with me, I thought it relevant to share this with you. Forget everything you think of when you think of a hotel. Forget the stiff doorman, the clinical decor and dated flower arrangements at reception and please don’t take your mind to that thought of ‘eeew, how many people have touched that remote’. The QT Hotel in Sydney is, in two words: Friggen Amazing! The beautiful heritage building has been transformed into a sensory playground for its guests, yet staying true to its soul with original walls, fitting and fixtures throughout. Standing alone in the elevator, Elvis begins to sing to me ‘Are you lonely tonight’, ha! The guest common areas are so quirky, fun and fabulous just like the staff, whom I must add, went above and beyond to make my stay as perfect as it was. My room was so sleek, modern, eclectic and homely, with a greeting Espresso Martini in every room, to help with that jet lag of corse.

Nails painted, hair and make-up done and my Preen dress on, I jumped into my cab, destination: Park Avenue Pr HQ to view their clients collections, mainly the Boohoo.com‘s new range (which I wanted ALL of!). The beautiful girls hosted a great night, where I caught up with Jasmin from Friend in Fashion, played with lots of amazing fashion from Peter Alexander, Watson x Watson and Suboo and fell in love with a pop colour print dress or two.

Jumped in another cap and headed to the GHD event that was the party of all parties, Sydney harbour views that photos are made of, the fabulous of the fabulous people and a reveal that is to set the hair styling world on fire! The new GHD eclipse! (stay tuned)

A great nights sleep, a delicious breakfast and a pit stop to Topshop later, here I am, back at home with my feet up on the couch ready for bed. Until next time Sydney xo
