Fashion to me is about being versatile. I like to get the most out of the garments I have in my wardrobe and by doing this I simply play dress ups in my bedroom. Before I organise my blog shoot, I prepare the looks that I am going to shoot so on the day, I can arrive, know exactly what I am wearing, get the looks done and get home to the bubbas. In this example, I wore the H&M sequin skirt as a top. I remember back when I was 15, I would wear skirts over my jeans and it was a fashion statement ahead of its time, at the time and it caught on and all my friends started to do it. I think it was that moment that I knew it was OK to be creative with fashion and that it was OK to not just be like everyone else. You see all those quotes on instagram about being different because everyone else is taken or being different is better, etc, etc, well, take that advice and run. The world today is way too harsh, especially on social media (mind you, it seems to be the same type of person and age group who are the trolls) and if you take away social media and you are wearing or expressing your own unique fashion on the streets, what would you get? A scrunched up look from someone? a roll of the eyes? yeah, probably, but thats all and you walk past them and move on. Words don’t get spoken in real life but on social media, words are typed. I actually don’t know when I am headed with this or how I got to this but I think, as an influencer, a person you come to visit online, I feel its my job to remind you that you are awesome and life is bigger and better than what you see on social media and to not let a single day go by where you can’t be who you really are or want to be, its your life, your story and is absolutely no one else’s business! Take it from me, the things you worry about today are only a speck in the scheme of your life.
