As I tilt my hat to the master that is Karl Lagerfeld yet again, I  ponder to myself- will there ever be a moment where I am not in awe of his work? Has he amazed me so much in the past that any collection in the future could not compare? I mean, if he had Baptiste Giabiconi in a wookie style faux fur suit for winter,  then what has he dreamed up for Couture show??? when you see things on a bigger scale as Mr Lagerfeld does- anything is possible.

His dreams are inspiration for his work and between you and me- I think he might have been watching The Wizard of Oz before his hand went to work sketching this collection. We dreamers who will never be blessed to attend a Chanel show can only imagine the thrill, the energy and the amazement that the Chanel Fall 2010 Couture show guests would have felt when they peered their eyes up to that magnificent gold lion. Not only do the guest of Chanel anticipate the collection itself,  now the buzz has made a turn to the theme, the visuals and the stage design that will accompany the amazing pieces on the amazing models. From and iceberg to a gold lion, to Baptist playing dress ups as a wookie and now a lions head- ah the theatrics!

The collection I believe  is wearable for us commoner’s, just break it down! ‘how can I take from this collection and wear it at home?’ you ask? well firstly lengthen your hemlines, puff your sleeves and balance your arm wear with cuffs on either arm. Choose golds, maroon, navy and camel colours and thicker heavier, fabrics, velvet, embroideries, beading and tweed. The hair was very relaxed, very after work look, tucked into the jackets and fall around the face, the lips rouge coco stunning maroon red.

My favourite looks are those with skirt and jacket in tweed greys and the Navy Natasha Poly dress with beaded belt. Oh and I love how Karl snuck in a vision of himself in Freja Beha Erichsen’s first look!
