The program for the 2011 L’Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival was officially launched last week at Government House. The manicured grounds and the grand white building accompanied six gold letters so bold and strong spelling L’Oréal, the hero in this picturesque setting.

The grand ballroom came alive with a spectacular fashion installation featuring looks from premium Australian designers as the VIP guests arrived. Designers and fashion identities including the Face of the Festival Melissa George, Creative Director Grant Pearce, Lara Bingle, Pia Miller, Alex Perry and Megan Gale just to name a few.

I was lucky enough to sneak in a quick interview with Grant Pearce himself and ask him two relevant questions.

WWKD: “What is your view on fashion bloggers and their impact on fashion today?”

Grant Pearce: “I think that fashion bloggers have great relevance in the fashion business, like anyone involved in the industry, the more experienced a blogger is the more accurate the information is, so I think it’s like any career, I think it’s a wonderful career and it is very valuable for the fashion industry because it’s immediate it’s a strong opinion, but I think it needs to be an opinion that is actually a studied opinion rather than a random opinion.”

WWKD: “What key colours will we be seeing on the runway at the 2011 LMFF?”

Grant Pearce: “What is exciting about this season in particular is that colour is important, so red through to orange is a real highlight and a very important colour this season. Black of course, it wouldn’t be fashion without black, and camel is the other colour that is really important.”

I am very excited for the 2011 LMFF, its time to get into the vibe of fashion and support Australian fashion! Tickets are selling now for the runways, will I be seeing you there?? Purchase tickets HERE
